The Artist's Loft

Where Colors Come Together
And Magic Is Made

Art is a powerful way to bring us into alignment with the universe. Art has the power to uplift our spirit, give our minds food for contemplation or take us into a once-hidden profound awareness ourselves. The works of Degas, Rodin, Homer and Rockwell all attest to this.

For at least a hundred years, paintings of majestic sailing ships have lifted the spirits of seaman and landlubbers alike through their depiction of freedom... More
Art can also take us into the world of delusion, psychoses and lust. Such art entraps us further in the world of limitation and fear. But that is not the kind of art you will find here.

Here, you will find art that is created to uplift the human condition because the artist himself has dedicated his life to the pursuit of Truth. And like a man whose condition of his skin reflects years of bad eating, these artists reflect the glory that is within us all.

Steve Paty, one of our featured artists here at Self-Help-Life-Blog.Com, is one such artist. He has dedicated his life to spirituality and the pursuit of Truth and that makes him somewhat of an enigma; having great talent for producing works of art, like the ship painting shown here, he nevertheless would never consider himself an artist - not in the usual sense anyway.

How many artists who love to create can put aside their brushes for years at a time - forever if necessary? Steve is one and has done it - and on more than one occasion. There was a time when his pursuit of art took priority over everything else in his life but after a spiritual awakening in which he lived with a meditation master for several years Steve saw art as a means to express the glory of the infinite and to communicate a message of upliftment. Art became a way to serve others instead of a personal pursuit.

By spiritualizing art in this way, Steve paints with a detachment toward his work not usually found in the mainstream art world. As a result, Steve has been able to easily put aside his brushes and canvases when called upon by circumstance or sense of duty.

The pursuit of spiritual perfection has not only moved art down his ladder of priorities but it has also transformed his art - where he once produced art for the senses he now produces art for the spirit.
